Polo’s Story
We adopted Polo from The Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue (www.ecgrr.com) in 2001. He was very skittish but happy to be us. He has been a humble and extremely loving dog since. In late Aug 2009 We asked our doctor to check out a limp during a routine teeth cleaning. It turned out to be osteosarcoma. When the Doc said "amputate" we were shocked and wondered how Polo would manage. We took some time to think about it and do some research before we decided what do. Polo's front left leg was amputated on 29 Sep 2009. He has surprised us, and continues to do so. No one told him he's missing a leg. We are so proud of him.

AAWWWW… Everyone looks so happy! Look at Polo smiling…
Everyone looks so happy!!! Has made me relax alot more, Our dog was diagnosed 3 days ago and had his leg amputated 2 days ago. A BIG SHOCK. So happy to have him home though.
